The first-rate collection at the Antalya Museum encompasses Turkish
crafts and costumes and artifacts from the classical and Roman eras
(including the notable statues of the gods, from Aphrodite to Zeus, in
the Gods Gallery), with bits of Byzantine iconography and some
prehistoric fossils thrown in. Don't miss the remains of prehistoric man
and the Seljuks, the children's and ethnographic sections, and the
fabulous open-air sculpture gallery. There is also a cafeteria and a
gift shop. If you have the time, walk to the museum from the center of
town along the coastline promenade. .
